Course Description

The course aims to enable students to acquire the knowledge required to understand the modern production process in winter (wheat, barley, oats, rye, triticale) and spring cereal crops (maize, rice, sorghum, millet), which are considered the most important plants for human nutrition on a global scale and are of particular importance for the Greek agricultural economy. The course aims to study the biology-physiology of winter and spring cereals, to understand the influence of abiotic and biotic factors on the growth and development of cereals, on the yield of these crops, to understand the influence of cultivation techniques on the yield of cereal crops as well as on the quality of the products produced.
